The Guillotine
In 1789 Dr. Joesph Guillotine a new form of death. The Guillotine. It was made for a more humane way of death.It consists of a wooden frame and an angled blade that runs along grooves. After the excutioner raises the blade the person being executed puts their head inside the wooden circle part of the frame and then the excutioner lets go of the rope and then the blade drops. In 1791 the Assembly adopted this method. Thousands of people ended up being killed by the Guillotine. On January 17th, 1793 Louis XVI was convivted for treason. He was sent to the Guillotine four days later on January 21st, 1793.
